When the time comes for you to purchase your 2010 Women’s Final Four tickets, you’ll want to pack your bags for sunny and beautiful Texas. If you are looking forward to cheering on your team, you will be spending the day, week or perhaps even longer in San Antonio. In July of 2003, it was announced by the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Committees that San Antonio and the famed Alamodome will be hosting the Women’s Final Four for 2010. The host school will be the University of Texas at San Antonio. It makes sense then that you pack up some warm clothing if you will be heading down to watch you favorite ladies.
There is nothing new to this location. The Alamodome has been chosen for numerous events in the last years. In 1997 through 1998 there has been a championship game of some type being played here. They held the 2002 Women’s Final Four as well. And, they will host the 2008 Men’s Final Four as well. The city must be something worth seeing, then.
When you look at all the past experiences, you’ll see that the city of San Antonio has proven to be a city that can easily handle the increased needs and tourism demands that these types of events can throw at them. Perhaps that is why the Alamodome has hosted the Men’s Basketball Regional Championships in 1997, 2001 and in 2003. So, what does this all mean? When the 2010 Women’s Final Four happens, the city of San Antonio will be able to say that it has hosted 11 NCAA championship events in just a 13-year period. Of course, that is unless they add more to it!
In other words, make sure that when you get your 2010 Women’s Final Four tickets in hand that you plan to make San Antonio your destination city.
