Stadium: Dolphin Stadium (75,540)
City: Miami, Florida
If you get 2010 Super Bowl XLIV tickets, you are going to be planning a trip to Miami. Yes, the Dolphins will be hosting the next Super Bowl at their stadium. There is no doubt that those that love to visit a warm and sunny location like Miami will welcome the change of scenery during the cold winter months. But, does it bother you that the Super Bowl has been held here for a record tenth time? For some, it is a bit unnerving. After all, there are plenty of locations around the country that really could use the income generated by the Super Bowl to fuel their economies.
But, yes there is a "but" in this statement. The fact is that the Super Bowl can only be played where the weather is warm enough and there is no snow coverage likely. Unfortunately, for all of you that love the game of football played in the snow, there is no doubt that you would love to have game number XLIV played at your hometown, but that’s just not the way it happens to work out.
Actually, you could have been buying 2010 Super Bowl XLIV tickets to New York until a few months ago. New York was awarded the Super Bowl but only in the condition that they build a new stadium, with a dome. Unfortunately, the stadium that was to be built did not get governmental approval in time. It was to be part of the city’s official Olympic bid as well, which also failed to happen.
The other cities that were in on the bidding for this Super Bowl included Atlanta and Houston. New Orleans held the title for the most Super Bowls played there with nine. But, with Miami picking up the 2010 tickets, you can bet that more and more games are likely to be played where the weather is warmer. In fact, unless teams begin to develop methods for installing domes on their stadiums, it is more and more likely that we will see more than just the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV tickets with a warm weathered location listed.
