The FIFA World Cup is soccer's premier event. Taking place every four years since its inception in 1930, the World Cup is undoubtedly the most coveted sports trophy on Earth. Thirty-two nations qualify for the World Cup every four years. The 32 teams are split up into eight groups of four teams. After a three-game round-robin tournament within each group, two teams from each group emerge to the Round of 16, which ensues as a traditional bracket-style tournament to determine the World Cup Champion. Brazil has won the World Cup five times, more than any other team. Tickets to the 2006 World Cup in Germany were distributed by the FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets were also distributed by FIFA Member Associations whose teams have qualified. Face value of the tickets ranged from 35 EUR to 100 EUR during the group-play stage and 120 EUR to 600 EUR for the Final.
